The hywise Drinking Water Management System Is Set to Revolutionize Building Technology
12. March 2019
At this year’s ISH in Frankfurt, the world’s leading trade fair for responsible energy and water management in buildings, Swiss company Oblamatik is presenting its latest drinking water management system: hywise.
This is the first software-based system to connect a building’s water, heating, and ventilation systems and allow them to be controlled from one place – building technology made smart. It finds leaks and legionellae, saves water, and allows users to program their own profiles.
Given the current wave of digitalization, it is astounding that water management for building technology still has not been digitalized. Water and electricity systems are essential for people living in buildings. With hywise, Oblamatik is revolutionizing water systems.
Drinking Water Quality and Ecology: The Top Priorities
With hywise, Oblamatik provides a solution to specific problems. The most familiar of those is legionellae. These bacteria form when drinking water reaches a certain temperature and stands for a long period of time. It can infect the airways and cause health problems. hywise uses intelligent sensors to monitor the water system and automatically carries out a hygienic flush whenever necessary. Data evaluations and water-saving modes also optimize the ecological sustainability of building technology.
Building Technology Should Make Life More Enjoyable
The comfort functions are another equally important part of the hywise system. The app allows users to save their favorite functions – such as their spa shower or tooth-brushing mode for the bathroom sink – in their profile. Intuitive user guidance via a range of operating controls, including Oblamatik’s smart user interface TLI Air and voice control using Amazon Alexa, make hywise particularly user-friendly.
The Intel of Building Automation
Oblamatik CEO Roland Obrist is confident that hywise has a promising future: “After several years in development, hywise represents a new milestone in water management. Never before has it been possible to manage building technology so easily, conveniently, and ecologically.” Oblamatik is a B2B OEM that offers products from thermostatic mixers to miniature interfaces and software. Renowned international manufacturers in the sanitary, heating, and ventilation industries already use the Swiss company’s innovative developments. “We take inspiration from other companies’ success stories. Intel, for example, have done amazing things as an OEM. With our solutions, we aim to head in the same direction,” Obrist concludes.
